All of my career experiences take me back to this quote. When I was in high school, I was promoted within Friendly's Ice Cream from a fountain worker, to a server and then to a trainer. The constant interactions with customers and my team motivated me to balance my undergraduate degree, a graduate degree and a full-time job, while still working for the company part-time. While I wasn't at a management level, I had a steady stream of "regulars" that knew my shifts and came in weekly. I loved how we made each other feel, all while I was providing a service. In my professional career, I have been afforded amazing opportunities to apply those principles into large-scale, high-impact work, that benefits the institution and the clients I serve (new college students). Recruiting, hiring and training a team of individuals that can leave people feeling positive, after having an experience with them, is at the foundation of what I do. I am driven by challenging and supporting my team and stakeholders because without them, our clients do not get the best that they can from my college. I am passionate about providing strategic direction to my team, as well as to my supervisors, to promote the vision and trajectory of the organization.
