Jackie Lichter Email & Phone Number | Following a career of teaching in Catholic schools and serving in administrative roles, I was given a wonderful opportunity to serve many schools as a Senior Consultant for Meitler, a Catholic planning firm. All of my previous positions prepared me for the work I do today. Meitler is unique in that they are committed to hiring practitioners who have been in the “trenches” and know the nuts and bolts of how schools, parishes and dioceses operate. I love that my current work provides me with the opportunity to support the mission of Catholic education in dioceses all across the United States. As a colleague often says, "if you have seen one Catholic school, you have seen only one Catholic school" as each one and the community she serves is often so unique! Having the opportunity to become principal of and open a new regional PK-8th grade Catholic School that served 12 Catholic Parishes gave me a deep understanding of regional schools, marketing, developing teachers and offered me a place to hone my leadership skills. In fact, I had to develop skills that I didn't know I even possessed. Together with a Board and teachers we wrote a vision and mission statement, honor code, handbooks, marketing materials, developed a brand, logo, website, spirit wear and established a Home and School and Athletic Program and developed teacher leaders. I wrote prayers to open and close the day. In June of 2011 we did not have a single child enrolled. When we opened our doors in August we had 454 registered students. Seven years later the school served over 600 children. This role and serving on a Board, at that time, comprised of 12 Catholic priests and 12 lay representatives taught me to be a better collaborator, to be more prayerful and to learn to compromise. Today the structure of the school and the Board has evolved to meet the changing needs of this dynamic organization.
