Ivan Munic Email & Phone Number | As the Head of R&D, my primary responsibility was overseeing a small team of two great engineers in developing a platform that provides indoor and outdoor location services by leveraging Bluetooth. The idea of creating this kind of platform goes back as far as 2017, and I was part of the initial team that started the effort. The platform works by using Bluetooth beacons which send out signals on regular intervals, cloud gateways based on the ESP32 chipset picking up those signals, and sending the data to the cloud for processing. After applying advanced filters and algorithms the platform can locate beacons and place them inside a coordinate system, opening the platform up for endless usage possibilities. My other responsibilities included steering the company culture and holding regular events aimed at spreading knowledge about new processes, tools, and technologies to all employees, and in small part Software Engineering and DevOps consulting. I worked with different technologies during this period, some of them are the ESP32 SOC, MQTT, C, Go, Redis, InfluxDB, Mongo, and Node.js.After starting a long term gig for a remote client, besides conducting job interviews for the engineering department, I took on leading a team consisting of students and junior developers who recently joined the company, . Besides acting as their team lead, my role was bootstrapping the team and spreading as much knowledge as possible so they could join client projects quickly and efficiently. During this period my interest in DevOps grew, and I soon found myself being a part of the clients DevOps team. As a part of the DevOps team, I worked with different cloud providers ranging from Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and DigitalOcean to Hetzner Cloud. Some of the tooling and platforms I gained hands on experience were Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.While completing multiple projects for various clients, besides my regular Java developer duties and responsibilities I created and maintained the company cloud infrastructure consisting of several Linux (CentOS) boxes running many different services and tools such as Confluence, Jenkins, Jira, Keycloak, Nexus, OpenLDAP, SonarQube, Tomcat, and nginx. Additionally, I have helped several clients define, create, or improve their internal CI/CD processes by pushing in tools that they previously didn't know of or didn't use. New tools, technologies, and protocols I gained hands on experience in this period include but are not limited to Scala, Spring Boot, OSGI, Apache Karaf, Akka, SQL Server, Informix, JCR, Apache Jackrabbit, Apache Cordova, PhoneGap, Sencha Touch, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.Got a lot of experience by working with clients from different industries ranging from banking, finance, integrators, and telecommunications. My duties and responsibilities included developing and deploying various solutions on the backend and frontend, from a personal finance manager to a real-time bidding solution. The various tools, technologies, and protocols I gained hands on experience include but are not limited to Git, SVN, Jira, RTC, Java, Maven, Gradle, Spring, Mule, Apache CXF, JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, Querydsl, DB2, PostgreSQL, JMS, ActiveMQ, Thymeleaf, AngularJS, REST, SOAP, Jenkins, Tomcat, IBM WebSphere and OpenShift Online (legacy).Subcontracted student job which revolved around analyzing video footage of various real traffic situations to be used as input for a machine learning engine which would later power self-driving vehicles.
