I recently completed a three-month internship with my iCASE partner, Leaf Expression Systems, a biotech company that specialises in plant-based expression technologies. There, I worked with their R&D, Business Development, and Downstream Processing teams, learning skills in protein expression and purification, business development, and alternative proteins. I gained valuable insights into the industry challenges and opportunities for plant molecular farming. I am eager to continue learning and working in this exciting field and exploring where alternative proteins can take us.
