1978年に東京工業大学 理学部卒業後、日本IBMに入社。入社後は営業畑を歩み、IBM米国本社にて国際ビジネス戦略コンサルタント、IBM Asia Pasific（現・IBM Asia Pacific Services Corporation）社長補佐、ネットワークサービス事業部長などを務める。1998年、米国最大手の通信事業者AT&TグループのAT＆Tグローバル・ネットワーク・サービス・ジャパンLLC（現・AT&T Japan LLC）取締役社長およびAT＆Tグローバル・サービス代表取締役社長に就任。2001年には、AT＆Tビジネス・アジアパシフィックプレジデント、AT＆Tグローバル・サービス代表取締役会長、日本AT＆T代表取締役社長に就任。2003年、日本テレコム（現・ソフトバンクテレコム）に入社し、専務執行役戦略企画本部長、専務執行役法人事業本部長を経て取締役執行役副社長に就任。2005年、DDIポケット（現・ウィルコム）代表取締役社長として利用者倍増・業績向上を手がけ、わすか1年半でV字回復を果たす。長年、ICT業界を牽引してきた実績をもとに、2007年SAPジャパンの代表取締役社長兼CEOに就任。2010年2月からは、ワークスアプリケーションズの最高顧問として、同社の海外での事業展開・販路拡大を手がける。2015年には同社子会社のInforview取締役を兼務。
