  Irene Morden is a Hello everyone, I am Miss Irene, a music teacher for over 30 years. I offer violin, voice and piano lessons, as well musical theory. I've played violin for the past 45 years (classically trained at St. Petersburg State Conservatory in Russia) and have taught it to hundreds of kids and adults. I strongly believe in the classical method and proper technique and foundation. I am also an Opera singer (trained in Russia and Switzerland), and I teach the Bel Canto Technique, as well as Musical Theater. Voice lessons are awesome, because there is no messing up! I absolutely LOVE what a proper technique does to the voice, and how it builds the confidence and self esteem! Voice can only get better with time and practice:). I also teach piano, and my system is based on ear training and developing fast sight-reading skills, even for the youngest ones. We sing along with note names, and learn hoe to count at the same time. It makes learning process three times faster! And kids find it fun and entertaining. I incorporate Music Theory into my lessons, so that students understand what they are looking at, and develop the independence and reading ability early on. I also teach it in "crash courses", which works great! My long-term goal for my students is NOT to need me, be independent creative musicians, and most importantly, LOVE MUSIC!
