I draw on 25+ years of experience in design practice, spanning industrial design, graphic design, web design, strategic design, design thinking, cross-disciplinary design and service design methods - applied across local government, finance, commercial and not-for-profit sector. Particularly rewarding was my time promoting cultural and creative industries through design thinking to boost economic activity in struggling local communities in Italy. The finance sector offers equally rewarding opportunities to make a powerful difference in the lives of many through design. What I love most is looking at problems and opportunities with a cross-disciplinary lens. Tinkering at the edges of possibility, applying mixed methods and experimentation is what drives me to push beyond the obvious. I believe novel solutions lie in looking outside one's immediate field of vision, and embracing diverse views, voices and expertise helps us go further.
