Ilse Adonis is a Over the past twelve years I have worked extensively in the international relations field, specifically in the formulation, negotiation, implementation and management of strategic policy objectives. I am currently working at a specialised United Nations Agency, the IAEA, where my duties entail the formulation, implementation and monitoring of programmatic activities, risk management and policy formulation. I completed a four-year multilateral assignment in Vienna, Austria in 2013 where I represented the Government of the Republic of South Africa at the United Nations and other International Organizations. In this capacity, and under the supervision of the Permanent Representative, I was responsible for representing the interests of the South African Government in the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna. This assignment required my focus on issues relating to industrial development, nuclear disarmament, environment and trade law. My work in the international relations field has touched on every part of the international relations cycle, including: the framing of policy architecture, negotiation of agreements, implementation of obligations and management of concluded agreements.
