She graduated from University of Lima in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and soon took a job as cultural assistant at the Goethe-Institute in Lima, where in 2007 was named head librarian. Each year, she organizes project to promote reading in Peru with the collaboration of German experts. In 2008, Iliana was a co-founder of the first international comic festival “Mundo Viñeta” in Peru, which has taken place in Lima annually since its inception. Since 2010, as part of the initiative “Culture and Development” of Goethe-Institute and together with partners from Peru and Germany, she is planning the project “Information and education competences for socially disadvantaged persons”. In autumn 2010, the German magazine “Bibliothek, Forschung & Praxis” will publish her essay about the National Library of Peru. She travels across South America speaking at conferences about German software for libraries.
