I began my professional journalistic career as a reporter at Indonesia's largest English daily The Jakarta Post. I was an editor and multimedia producer at the Post before joining The Conversation Indonesia. I hold Master's degrees in journalism and international relations from Monash University, Australia. My thesis comparing business models between Indonesian and Australian alternative media won the Best Journalism Masters Thesis from Monash University in 2014. During my study in Melbourne, I also worked part time for ABC International. I have won numerous international fellowships from Reuters, Radio Netherlands Training Centre and GIZ. Since joining The Conversation Indonesia, I help the organisation grow and develop its business models. From having only four staff members in 2017, we employ 21 staff. I also teach journalism to university students. In addition to that, I am also an experienced trainer for researchers and academics who want to share their research and knowledge to general public.
