Prior to joining the University of Saskatchewan, she was a Sessional Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia. She also worked for the Canadian Institute of Resources Law. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She has served as a consultant for the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo on a UNCTAD/UNU project on the rule of law and good business practices in zones of conflict. Ronke is a recipient of numerous academic awards and fellowships. She has spoken at numerous international conferences and co-convened workshops and a conference. Her research focuses on international economic law, especially the international law on foreign investment, and natural resource development. She also has research interests in socio-economic development, human rights law, Africa and international law, globalization, and legal and international relations theory. Her articles on these subjects have appeared in several leading international journals and books. She is co-editor of Indigenous-Industry Agreements, Natural Resources and the Law published by Routledge. Ronke is one of the editors of the African Yearbook of International Law. She is a member of the editorial boards of the Business and Human Rights Journal, Journal of African Law, Transnational Human Rights Review, and the African Journal of International Economic Law. She was a member of the editorial board of the Law and Society Review. Ronke has also served as Vice President (Conferences) of the Canadian Law and Society Association and was also a member of the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association’s Board of Directors. She teaches Contracts, Business Organizations and a seminar on Law, Development and the International System and has been the recipient of the University of Saskatchewan's Provost College Award for Outstanding Teaching in Law.
