In my current role I have provided on-going proactive System Management Services to customers in financial services, telecommunications, Aerospace, Transport, and Industrial sectors. This has involved discovering and documenting existing systems, stabilising, and improving the resilience of old systems, migrating systems to current versions of OpenVMS and current hardware. I've advised on application porting and modernisation, and undertaken performance and capacity analysis. I have investigated complex problems to discover their root cause then devised and implemented a solution. I have created and released as freeware several software utilities which interface with OpenVMS internals to provide information or facilities which are not otherwise available. This software was written in C and MACRO-32. I also have some knowledge of other programming languages. I am active in the VMS community and was honoured to be awarded the John Wisniewski Spirit Award in 2007. HP OpenVMS Ambassador HP Certified System Engineer OpenVMS V8 & V7. HP Certified System Administrator OpenVMS. ITIL Foundation Certificate.
