Hugh Hillhouse is a My research group and I at the University of Washington are focused on developing the understanding of fundamental physical and chemical processes involved in energy conversion processes and devices. Projects within the group span the range from fundamental studies of interfacial phenomena, colloidal chemistry, and electrochemistry all the way up to device fabrication and testing of solar cells, fuel cells, and devices for environmental remediation. Specialties: • Solar Energy Conversion (solar cells, photoelectrochemical devices) • Photovoltaic Materials (solution processed CIGS, CZTS, and perovskites) • Electrochemistry (novel fuel cells, semiconductor electrochemistry, electro-oxidation for environmental remediation) • Nanomaterials (nanocrystals, nanowires, quantum size effects) • Colloidal & Interfacial Phenomena (self-assembly, nucleation & growth)
