I currently serve as the Director of Science Policy and Guidelines at the ADA Center for Evidence Based Dentistry. In this role, I oversee science-based resources, policies and programs for the ADA, including the Council on Scientific Affairs. It's a privilege to work with some of the greatest minds in oral health research. I came to the ADA from the University of Illinois Chicago, where I worked as a legal researcher, working with economists and public health researchers to assess the impact of state-level tobacco taxation and pricing policies on consumer habits. I graduated law school with a focus on public interest and policy, during which time I worked at both the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division; and Citizen Works, a non-profit consumer protection advocacy group. In my time with these organizations, I realized the impact of the legislative infrastructure, and shifted my focus towards policy research and development. Prior to law school, I spent four years in public relations/marketing, where I worked with a variety of local and national brands across many industries, including nonprofit, consumer retail, food service, and marketing. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Public Relations & Advertising, and earned my JD from Chicago-Kent (with a Public Interest Certificate).
