I joined Johnson Matthey as a Lotus Domino Administrator and, being highly adaptable, coupled with a desire for continuous learning, enjoyed taking responsibility for the administration and development of a variety of other systems. This gave me a strong general background in IT, enabling a smooth transition into building and growing the knowledge function within a highly technical environment. With an enthusiasm for continuous improvement, I developed knowledge BAU processes for JM IT and championed these to influence behavioural change throughout the IT resolver groups. I have also taken learning from organisations that are successful in Knowledge Management, including the Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) industry standard, to influence and develop the strategy and direction of knowledge for the global IT function, enabling the solid foundations already built to mature. I'm continuing to build upon my existing knowledge and experience and now, with fresh challenges and experiences within the JM IT structure, am taking the knowledge function further into maturity.
