Will we work together? ☆ ABOUT HÉLDER MESTRE I have three years of experience in projects in the areas of health and education in northern Mozambique, first as a volunteer and later as a project manager in a humanitarian association that I helped found, the AFIM (Ajuda Fraterna à Ilha de Moçambique) . With 21 years old and as the only member of the association on the field, I developed very early skills of autonomy, pro-activity, results orientation, representation, negotiation and decision. Tasks that I played included: • the exploration and development of project proposals; • identifying and managing partnerships with numerous local authorities and Portuguese NGOs; • fundraising; • the planning, implementation , financial control and evaluation of projects; • Implementation of a program of surgical operations, where were operated more than 200 people, which included contacts with the hospital authorities, organization and transport of patients to hospital Monapo; • Prevention of cholera through the recovery of 21 wells and construction of two new wells in the Island District, in partnership with Oikos (a Portuguese NGO); • Evaluation, negotiation and purchase of equipment necessary to equip a health center / maternity in the bush; • Coordination of a project to raise awareness of the epidemic of HIV / AIDS; • Support the Island hospital in emergency transport of patients and medications; • Transport Nurse Sister and medicine to communities in the bush; • reporting of activities and financial results of projects; • recruitment and monitoring of contract workers and volunteers for developed projects. I am currently working at IHRU as Senior Technician and I am quite satisfied with what I do.
