I completed my student teaching at Point Defiance Elementary in Tacoma Washington in a third grade classroom. I spent the remainder of the academic year substituted teaching in Puyallup, Tacoma, and Bethel School Districts. During summers, I have worked in community outreach and nature conservation through Tacoma Nature Center. I also led after-school and summer learning groups in elementary, middle, and high school. I have held a position as a preschool teacher through the Phinney Neighborhood Association in Seattle. I spent three years teaching a variety of subjects at Harbor Christian Schools including Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Art, Spanish, and after-school Homework Club. I currently work at Annie Wright Schools where I teach first through fifth grade Spanish. In past years, I have also taught preschool, preK, and kindergarten Spanish. I am also a Curriculum and Practice facilitator at my school which is focused on supporting new teachers and retaining a great cohort of educators. I also have a 200-hour yoga certification and instruct yoga during summer months and school breaks.
