Hef Hefner Email & Phone Number | When I'm not playing wannabe rockstar with my band VeiN. I work in IT Security during the day and at night i specialize in hard rock/metal music! I have over 25yrs experience in networking, debugging, and code analysis which has given me a deep understanding on how things work and move around on the internet. This has also given me one of my strongest attributes, and that is being able to see the big picture. This helps me solve extremely complicated issues that touch many different types of systems while traveling thru many different networks including the internet. I started at Microsoft in 1995 working with MSmail which eventually became Exchange Email. Then in the early 2000's I moved to the debug/networking team analyzing blue screens(BSOD) and analyzing networking traces. I started specializing in VOIP technology which lead me to Microsoft's first version of Skype, called Live Communication Server, Which after a couple of name changes, OCS, then Lync, and finally changed to Skype after Microsoft bought Skype and rebranded Lync as Skype. I helped build the support team for this technology in 2007 when it became its own support organization and then grew world wide. Then I was a senior escalation engineer and helped train and mentoring all tiers worldwide to insure the bests support was giving from those engineers, which meant working with beta products, presenting and creating training and at the time handling the most complicated issues for the largest fortune 100 companies using Skype. That experience gave me the knowledge and understanding of many network systems and how they work together. Which eventually lead me to working in IT security. The skill set I have developed is crucial to understanding how networks work, data flows, authentication, encryption, firewalls, switches and routers, including the IOT. This work has lead me to a position at ForeScout Technologies doing support for the corporate customers, including the government and military deploying their product in different networks to insure the security of those networks, identify threats, and responding to those threats so they don't interfere with the day to day operations of those businesses. When I'm not at work, i enjoy creating/writing/producing music and playing shows whenever possible in VeiN.
