Heather Mckirdy Email & Phone Number | I’ve always had a passion and aptitude for languages and in 2015 I completed my degree in French and German interpreting and translation which I built on by doing an internship at the European Court of Auditors as a Trainee Translator. From 2016-2022 I enjoyed a varied and vibrant career as a Localization Project Manager. Working for TransPerfect in Barcelona I managed projects in the Life Sciences department, with a particular focus on clinical trial pharmacovigilance reports, SOPs and QRDs. During my two years I was also able to pick up conversational Spanish to add to my languages. Upon returning to Edinburgh I joined Rubric - a highly regarded, technology-savvy, global content partner - where I spent time coordinating app/web translations, working regularly with developers and engineers for various clients. Alongside project managing, I also managed the accounts of my clients and consulted them on their localization projects. In recent years I have also completely two courses: - Assert Yourself and Build Confidence - Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ, accredited by APM - Association for Project Management) In 2022 I will be starting Secondary Education teacher training (PGDE) at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in French and German. Since January 2021 I have been a member of Unmute Yourself Toastmasters, a public speaking club affiliated with Toastmasters International.
