I studied Nutrition and Health Science where I will graduate in November of this year with a Second Class honours degree. I have previously done 4 months of work experience in Health Promotion, with Healthy Campus in Athlone Institute of Technology. My role include planning and organising different events and campaigns. The skills I gained from this are organisation, good communication, working within a team and understanding how to market and push a campaign in the correct manner. In my final year of college my thesis title was ‘Novel Folate Delivery System’. With this I studied and conducted research and laboratory experiments to look at the incorporation of the active ingredient folic acid into a PEGDMA hydrogel and to examine the sustained release of the folic acid from the hydrogel over a prolonged period of time in different pH mediums. With this I have gained my skills in research and within the laboratory. I obtained a 2.1 grade for my thesis. I have been involved in many team sports including hockey and football throughout childhood, school and college. I have numerous of Munster medals with hockey and was appointed captain of the hockey team in college for two consecutive years. My main sport is horse riding where I have competed at international level and have been selected to complete for Ireland. I have obtained many skills from many different experiences. These include strong communication, good leadership, I am very enthusiastic about everything I do and I am very hard working. I am not afraid of moving out of my comfort zone for any new challenges I may face.
