During that time my career path has encompassed many different industries in a wide variety of settings. This prior experience has helped me to gain knowledge of accounting from many different perspectives. There have been a few settings where I started as a lower level employee and worked my way up to a management position. Moves like these have helped me gain insight to different industries, as well as insight into a variety of organizational positions. There is something to learn from every situation in life! I thoroughly enjoy my accounting work. The past few years I shifted from the corporate sector to Not-For-Profit and charity work. I wanted to work with others who were invested in a cause. While every industry poses its own challenges in regard to accounting, I have found the NFP sector to be the most satisfying. I appreciate a friendly rapport with my clients, as well as working independently, and the satisfaction of giving back to the community. A few years ago I became trained as a certified Reiki practitioner and in early 2018 I received my certificate and license to practice as a Nail Technician in the state of Wisconsin. While these practices are on the opposite end of the business spectrum from accounting, they offer the balance I desire in my career path. I have my own small Not-For-Profit bookkeeping client base. I am also currently employed as a nail technician at a local salon, as well as being a certified Reiki practitioner. My goal the past few years has been balance in all of my life; from self-care, family and friends, to career goals. I love to help others, and I love to have fun while I work. My current employment opportunities bring me great joy as I am able to have fun while helping others, it is good to feel successful! This feeling instils that I am on a clear path to continue to expand my client base, whether in the accounting field or bodywork.
