Hana Shahin Email & Phone Number | Hana Shahin received her Ph.D. in Community Psychology from Wichita State University in 2021 and Master’s of Arts in Community Psychology from the American University in Cairo. Her research has focused on wellness, burnout and compassion fatigue and satisfaction, sense of community, COVID-19, health and physical fitness, powerlifting, obesity, and civic education and engagement. Future research will continue focusing on wellness and community program development. She has taught introduction to community psychology, social psychology, introduction to psychology and research methods for the last 5 years. Additionally, she has twelve years of work experience in the non-profit sector in the middle east, Europe, and the United States, where she had the chance to implement and apply community psychology theory into practice. Some of the major projects she worked on are homelessness, juvenile justice, financial literacy, employment, health and awareness, strategic planning, empowerment evaluation, coalition, and board development, needs assessments, events planning and management, organizational development, cost and benefit analysis, program design and evaluation, and grant writing and reporting. She has led many of these projects and has also been part of the team. Furthermore, other consultancies for organizations that she oversaw included conducting literature reviews, creating logic models and strategies for projects and organizations. Additionally, she provided experiential educational training for the past ten years and consulted on projects for youth in cross-cultural understanding, leadership, civic education and engagement, and mentoring in the middle east, Europe, and the Americas.
