One in Government and most recently a second degree in Education. I value education and helping others increase their knowledge from a constructivist teaching style or student centered style. I have excellent research and writing skills. Whether it was studying Political Thought or Education, I have shown excellent skills with collecting supporting details and evidence. For example, with my reading of Frederick Douglass' autobiography or Alexander de Tochvile's Democracy in America, I have been able to find information that supported the topics I was discussing in class. I also applied my research skills with studying education philosophies and felt that Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development matched my understanding on how one learns. I also applied my research skills to learning about the K-Factor so I could test insulation. The insulation test was a Maker Project that was intended to be similar to a science fair project at a school. I feel it is important to set new goals but not have them so challenging that they cannot be reached. I also enjoy putting time in my writings and finding information at the library. Science and math, social change, and protecting the environment are my main interests in life. I enjoy teaching especially through hands on demonstrations. I taught fifth graders about angles through a demonstrations of a potato cannon. In addition, I enjoy making academic activities. As a recent intern, I created curriculum that would potentially increase the participation among the guests. Foam dice would be rolled that would have different questions with clues. The information at the museum would offer the answer to the questions that were posed.
