  Graham Turner is a The main part of my career in the military was providing advanced pre-hospital emergency care with an emphasis on trauma. I have also gained years of experience within primary healthcare and an extensive array of courses and qualifications covering CBRN, tropical medicine, advanced pre-hospital paediatric life support, Leadership and Management, aeromedical evacuation (routine and critical care), human factors, communication and many more. I then after leaving the RAF, went to SWASFT where I worked as a Paramedic mainly on rapid response vehicles in order to get to and deal with the most highest of prioritised emergencies. Here I become a link Paramedic for the north Wiltshire area in Palliative care under a project done with McMillan and undertook sage and thyme training. I later relocated to my home county of East Sussex and commenced in a career in Palliative care following a long term personal interest in the subject. At Hospice in the Weald I aided to develop a service to make it a place where people enjoy coming to work. I have also been able to set and meet strategic objectives, monitor and keep within budget restraints, support and develop others and regulate the quality of service being delivered both at a strategic and operational level. Collectively with the team and the wider Hospice, we were able to improve the quality of care given to patients, families and carers. I then went on to be a Lecturer Practitioner at The Royal Marsden School. I taught on an array of degree (level 6/7) modules, short courses, conferences and bespoke work in; palliative care, advanced communication, pain management, advanced physical assessment as well as leadership. This role enabled me to successfully obtain my PGCert in higher education and cemented my desire to help fellow healthcare professionals develop themselves. My next role was to be the Head of in-patient services at Martlets Hospice in Hove. It was great to get back into hospice palliative care, and even more so for a charity in my home town. My time here encompassed a great deal of strategic work and development across the clinical services and pulled on a lot of my military experience to aid us working within contingency operations due to the pandemic. I have now been afforded the pleasure of becoming the Director of Care & Service Transformation at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice in South East London, where I hope to support key developments in the perception and delivery of palliative care, with an impact on local, regional and the national arena alongside the excellent team here.
