Over the past 23 years I have developed a deep understanding of guitar performance and music. I have grown to realize that music is not simply sound, but the creation of energy that is perceived and then reflected within the individual. It is interesting to see how one feels while walking down a busy street, in a parking lot, on top of a mountain, or in a jazz club. All of the sound that surrounds us reflects within our selves no matter how well we "tune it out". I feel that modern society in general could benefit from an understanding of how the beeps, honks, or screeches, whether they are obvious or not, affect our wellness. With this thought in mind, I am currently developing an idea that will develop a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to musical performance to affect a persons wellness in a positive way in everyday life. The example in my head is to expand on the idea of a simple street busker. It would be interesting to develop programs in cities that can support positive/organic/quality music on the streets, for free, adding a sense of calm and order to the general chaos. I am always interested in your opinion on these ideas, so please, let me know what you think, or if you have any valuable information that could lead to this projects development!
