The majority of these procedures were done either as operating surgeon or assisting a junior. Most of these cases were on war and other trauma patients with multiple organ injuries that required major vascular interventions for which I received the shield of the best surgical resident of my graduating class. During the same period, I participated in multiple studies on war patients and I was the author or the co-author in twelve publications. Then in my private practice since 1992, I performed 6217 general surgery cases in the hospitals I am affiliated to and assisted colleagues of different specialties in around 560 cases. I also had the honor of fulfilling the duties of the head of the general surgery department at Al Zahraa University Hospital between 1992 and 1995, the duties of the interim chairman of surgery in the same institution between 1993 and 1995, the duties of the chairman of surgery between 1998 and 2002. As of June 2007 I established an affiliation program in general surgery & in obstetrics & gynecology between Al Zahraa University Hospital & Balamand University. I am acting as the teaching coordinator & director of the program fulfilling the duties of a professor at Al Zahraa University Hospital & an associate professor at Balamand University. Since October 2008 I am fulfilling the duties of the chairman of surgery at Al Zahraa University Hospital and the vise president of the scientific committee at the Arab University Medical School. An affiliation program is established between the Lebanese university & Al Zahraa University Hospital in general surgery & obstetrics & gynecology, this program is effective since March/01/2009 for which I am the teaching coordinator.
