This includes supporting professional growth for my colleagues in my team as well as supporting the development of the research group as a whole I am therefore a strong advocate of using participatory methods in our research group, including educational design research, service design thinking and sociocracy 3.0. My professional goal as a coordinator is to cultivate our research group as an established center of excellence on lifelong learning and innovation by conducting high-quality practice oriented scientific research in partnership with our stakeholders. I am convinced our multidisciplinary approach is crucial for achieving this aim. As a RESEARCHER I have over 20 years of experience in higher education, including more than 15 years as a researcher. My earliest research interest is on students’ learning strategies an study motivation in higher education. Although, the learning process of (young) adults is still at the core of my research, my interests have expanded beyond higher education to include learning in a professional context, soft skills and sustainable professional development. While at first quantitative data analyses and data visualization were instrumental were instrumental for presenting substantive research insights, lately they have become a center topic themselves with my growing research-interest in data-literacy, learning analytics and data-informed policy. I especially like designing feedback reports and feedback dashboards and exploring the possibilities of the statistical package R in achieving these aims. Both as a RESEARCHER and as a RESEARCH COORDINATOR I have acquired sizeable experience in applying for funding, (co-)designing research and communicating about research results. I regularly speak at both scientific conferences and more practice-oriented events. I also write in both Dutch and English. I believe that translating my/our message to specific target groups will enhance its impact.
