We are primarily interested in muscle diseases, in particular Pompe's disease. The approaches used are molecular/cell biological to elucidate the origin, characteristics and vulnerability of different stem cell populations. Ultimate goal is to find improve therapeutical applications for muscle stem cells. At the moment we are working on an exciting model in which we can 'heal' muscle stem cells from a patient in culture dishes.
