Have sound knwoledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology and related disease processes enabling him/ her to educate junior colleagues. For senior nurse in critical areas, the post-holder must have knowledge of mechanical ventilation and care of pediatric and adult ventilated patients. Have the ability to provide supervision and support to junior nurses in ensuring effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients' individual care. Demonstrate the ability to operate all equipment used in MKCC, relevant to theirdesignated clinical area, example ventilators, monitors and infusion pumps. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of measures taken to prevent teh spread of infection in their units and adhere to these measures as per MKCC Infection Control policy.
