Georgian Plopeanu Email & Phone Number | I graduated in Geochemistry in 2009 from University of Alexandru Ioan Cuza Iasi (Romania) and actually I’m working as Data Engineer/ Unit Manager for Geolog UK in North Sea. Main responsibilities are taking on the primary health and safety role for the well through constant monitoring of all critical drilling parameters, the advanced logging system (ALS) which records all aspects of rig activity, gas system monitoring and equipment, reporting to the wellsite geologist and the oil company in written reports. In 2014 was assigned to a geochemical project in Canary Islands developing reservoirs using XRD, XRF, TOC and Pyrolysis technologies. In 2012 I was assigned as Geochemical engineer specialist in Poland and Portugal. Responsibilities for that project was to analyze cuttings samples and core samples utilizing high technology equipment as X-Ray Diffract meter, X-Ray Fluorescence, Total Organic Carbon, Pyrolisis and deliver to the client’s reservoirs interpretations and chart data’s obtained. During my university studies, I acquired knowledge both theoretical and practice about the analytical chemistry through lab internships on laboratory and field tests to monitor the environment and investigate sources of pollution of heavy metals from soil fields. For example collecting samples of soils and recording test data by X-Ray Fluorescence and preparing reports, summaries and charts that interpret test results. In all the years of my jobs I tried to develop a good sense of research and have cultivated in me the abilities of to self-learn, think, and analyze independently. More importantly, I have learned the value of my own knowledge and skills.
