I came to work for Dr. Katzen and my boss, mentor and friend Carol Mascioli back in 1989 and am one of the original staff members that have been with them since the inception of Dr. Katzen's dream at Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute. I started as a staff technologist and worked my way up the ranks to Assistant Manager in charge of Operations in the Invasive labs. My duties included Flow and Workload Control, Staffing, Scheduling, Inventory and technical responsibilities and training. For the past five years I was asked to become Manager in charge of the Clinical Applications and Technology and Diagnostic MR and CT at Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute which is what I am presently doing. I have expanded my knowledge as far as technically with the additional duties of MR and CT equipment which is focused and specialized to vascular applications and diseases. My duties now include interventional angiography suite design and construction process' as well as equipment acquisition, servicing and contractural issues. My goals presently are to continue to assist in the expansion and success of Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute and continue to expand my knowledge as it pertains to invasive cardiovascular disease and diagnosis. I am an enthusiastic reader and blogger with my interests in political, environmental, economic and social issues.
