In 1997 Gavin left Old Mutual to open an Independent Brokerage offering a wider range of product to clients. Services included Financial & Estate Planning, Investment Advice & Short Term Insurance. Gavin's passion for working with people & his keen interest in media, led him to further his studies in the field of psychology and info systems at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003. He withdrew from the broking business to focus on his studies. Towards the end of 2004 he relocated with his family to Johannesburg in support of his wife's career. His business moved to Gauteng, offering website design, web hosting, professional photography & digital media services. In 2008 Gavin established a boutique photographic studio. An exciting addition was the completion of a 135m² studio rental facility in 2012, called www.GPBStudioRental.co.za Then in 2016 Gavin got the opportunity of a lifetime, to visit & partner with Algordanza, a Swiss Company that manufactures Memorial Diamonds from cremation ashes in Domat/Ems, Switzerland.
