Gang Han is a Dr. Gang Han is a co-founder and co-chair of the International Geomechanics Conference (IGS), a global summit in petroleum, mining, geothermal, CCUS, hydrogen, environmental, and geotechnics jointly organized by ARMA, DGS, SEG, SPE, AAPG, SPWLA, CSRME, EAGE, SRMEG. He was the 2021-2023 President of American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA). As the Chair of ARMA Technical Committee on Hydraulic Fracturing (2015-2021), he co-founded and grew the Hydraulic Fracturing Community to over 1000 members representing 340 international organizations. His technical expertise covers the technologies related to stimulation and productivity, well planning and construction, reservoir performance, unconventional reservoir, and rock and stress characterization. Dr. Han has worked offshore, continental, and unconventional oil and gas fields in Middle East, Gulf of Mexico, onshore USA, North Sea, Southeast and East Asia, Australia, North and West Africa, and South America. With over 60 publications, he is regularly invited to give keynotes at professional societies and conferences. He is a leading author of a multi-industry book, Drilling in Extreme Environments - Penetration and Sampling on Earth and Other Planets.
