I lead and facilitate traditional arts projects in school and community settings, working with all ages and all abilities. I have considerable experience in researching, writing and directing combined arts community plays and performances relating to sense of place, history, legend and landscape. I write songs in the traditional idiom, based on custom, myth and legend. I am a folk singer, dancer and ceilidh caller of many years standing, and both organise and take part in traditional calendar customs throughout Kent and Sussex. I was once a part of the team who ran the Rochester Sweeps Festival; and which devised and ran the first Faversham Hop Festival (still going under different management after 21 years). I design costumes and props for performances and run craft workshops for all ages, often as part of a combined arts project. . I have taught in Early Years settings, schools, youth clubs and universities, as well as in adult community groups and in day care centres for older people and for adults with special needs. I am a practising Sound Therapist, specialising in Voice and Gong Therapy, and provide group workshops and sound baths, as well as therapy sessions for individual clients. Qualifications: Licentiate of the College of Speech Therapists (Central School of Speech and Drama); Foundation Certificate in Drama, Dance and Voice Therapy; Advanced Certificate in Early Years Music and Movement; Professional Diploma with Merit in Holistic Voice Therapy; Professional Diploma with Merit in Gong Therapy, Sound Baths Diploma in Basic Counselling. Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care Specialties: The music, song, dance and traditions of the British Isles. Researching, writing and directing community plays and performances based on place, history, legend and landscape. Using the voice for healing and well-being. Early Years Music.
