Gabrielle Stannus Email & Phone Number | Gabrielle is an experienced environmental planner and educator and budding horticulturist. After graduating from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Social Science (Environment), receiving the university’s J.N. McNichol Prize for academic performance and leadership, Gabrielle then worked in local government for a decade. At the City of Melbourne, she was responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating community environment programs and events, including the Energy Saver and Greensaver household retrofit programs, and initiating its Schools Environment Network. Whilst working in local government, Gabrielle also completed a Diploma of Conservation and Land Management, initiating environment programs in her own community. As the inaugural convenor of Friends of Royal Park, Gabrielle developed community-led bird surveys, planting days and a water quality monitoring program in Royal Park to help others connect to nature in the city. At Do it on the Roof, she designed and managed the installation of green infrastructure projects, maintained rooftop and other gardens, and delivered school incursions and community events. In 2017, Gabrielle completed a Master of Urban Horticulture at the University of Melbourne, specialising in green roof and wall design. In her final semester, Gabrielle conducted research on leaf trait plasticity in response to light in common green wall species growing under different indoor light regimes. After travelling in France, Gabrielle is balancing life and work in country Tasmania with her partner Ludovic Vilbert.
