As an Australian in California, to say the learning curve was steep would be an understatement. All of a sudden I was a small fish, in a very expensive and fast-paced pond! We speak the same language and yet our culture, values and communication between the two countries couldn’t be more different. Still I believed in two things: 1. The huge opportunity that exists for every business in a market size of 350MM people (especially compared to our 26MM people which makes the whole of Australia around 2/3 the size of California alone) 2. That Australian brands are so strong, with so much integrity, that they deserve to succeed. The reasons are: - I believe we are THE best creative branders in the world. Aussies value good brands so our bar is automatically high. - We’re early adopters of many sustainability practices that are highly valued by retail partners today - We have a higher level of quality because our consumers (and laws) demand it. Since the beginning of 2021, I’ve been working to share my niche expertise. My mission is to be the go-to guide for any APAC brand and business looking to grow their sales by successfully engaging the North American market.
