He also spearheaded workforce and affordable housing developments such as Hunter’s Point South, Riverwalk 8 on Roosevelt Island Willets Point, Marine Terrace, and Far Rockaway, setting the bar for ground-up affordable developments in New York City. Hunter’s Point received the Urban Land Institute’s Excellence in Housing Development award in 2016 and is considered one of the best examples of affordable housing development in the U.S. In Chicago, Monterisi led the development of Related’s luxury brand, Related Rentals, with 500 Lake Shore Drive and OneEleven, an AIA project of the year award winner. He is also leading the development of 900 Randolph, a Morris Adjmi-designed rental building in the West Loop and 400 Lake Shore Drive, an SOM-designed project in Streeterville.
