  Francis Legein is a Military experience started as member of the 129 All Arms (Alle Wapens) Promotion at the Royal Military Academy (KMS) in 1989, graduating in 1993. Subsequently positions as platoon commander, EXO of a reconnaissance squadron, squadron commander and assistant operations were assumed in the "1ste Jagers te Paard" reconnaissance regiment. This period had an intermezzo at the Military Academy as a promotion commander of officer-students. Graduating as a candidate superior officer was followed by a period as ADC at three star level (Vice Chief of Defense). Attending the General Staff Course at the Defense College was the next step in 2008. Teaching tactics and later on intelligence to future majors and general staff officers were the main activities throughout 2009-2012. Being promoted to Lieutenant-colonel, NATO, EU, Comprehensive Approach and other policy issues were studied at HQ Eurocorps. Graduated cum laude as Master in Comparative and International Studies at KU Leuven University in 2013. From summer 2015 to end of 2016 been working at the Land Component Command on the digitization of the Chain of Command from Bde down to the soldier deployed in the field and subsequently posted as Chief of Staff at the Belgian Medium Brigade and Director of Staff of the Force Headquarters EUBG18 stand by period. Since September 2018 Chief of the tactical intelligence capability at the BEL Army Staff. Focus on capability development such as ground reconnaissance, ISR UAS portfolio, human intelligence, analysis capability, electronic warfare and other ISTAR related domains. Recently promoted to the rank OF5 or Colonel. As of summer 2021 took up a new posting at Rapid Reaction Corps France as the Assistant Chief of Staff Strategic Communications for the coming three years during which real life, operational and training events will be at the core of messaging to internal and external partners to RRC-FRA.
