Florentino Bexiga Email & Phone Number | First graduated in Computed Engineering at the University of Algarve, I took special interest in computer networks, general programming and artificial intelligence. This led me to take several online courses to extend my knowledge after graduation, and then take a Master's Degree specialising in Machine Learning. While I finished the curricular part of it, I never finished my dissertation as my interests started to digress. I worked on some short term projects while studying, and then in 2015 I joined BinaryEdge.io. There I started as a Data Scientist, then evolved to a Data Engineer, and then mostly as a Platform Engineer, with main responsibilities being around improving the existing scanning platform and building tools to gather data, the workflows to process and the pipelines to best deliver that data. When BinaryEdge got acquired by Coalition Inc., I continued with my previous set of responsibilities and eventually started as a Tech Lead on Customer Security, with the main responsibilities of developing and maintaining tools capable of supporting security data related needs, with an example being tools that accurately and effectively evaluate risk by discovering and analysing known assets. My current main areas of interest include Computer Programming, Parallel and Distributed Systems, Computer Networks, and Data Mining. I'm very versatile and persistent, and while I enjoy challenges that allow me to grow, I'm also very selective. I'd rather spend 10 hours a day working on an interesting and technically challenging project with a purpose than spending a minute on consulting for the sake of money-making. I've also always worked fully remote, and I intend to continue to do so as much as possible.
