This quote speaks out to me as an early childhood educator, I play a huge part in impacting the children’s lives and it is my responsibility to guide the children through their early years. I personally believe that every child is unique and that children learn best through play. Therefore as an educator, I will take into account each child’s abilities, interests, knowledge and skills to extend their learning. I will also facilitate the children’s learning by providing them with opportunities to explore through play. This allows them to discover and make connections which supports children’s learning and development. I aim to be an educator that sparks joy in children’s learning and development. During my internship, I actively apply my professional knowledge and experience that I have learnt in school to facilitate the children’s learning and development. It provided me with opportunities to interact and support children of different ages and abilities which helped to hone my abilities in conducting lessons and classroom management. This brings me back to my teaching philosophy where I created lesson plans that includes play that takes into consideration every child’s abilities. Apart from my academics, I have taken up part-time jobs in the F&B industry, Through these experiences, it helped to hone my interpersonal skills such as communication as I am required to communicate with customers to resolve any issues and conflicts as well as being a strong team player by working with everyone to ensure that we have completed our tasks successfully. With the experiences and skills that I have gained, I am confident that I can be an educator that will make a difference in the children’s lives.
