This has given me an in depth knowledge of the body and rehabilitation techniques for a range of clients from chronic conditions to sports injuries. My further qualification as a Pilates instructor has also allowed me to help individuals achieve their fitness goals. My passion is movement and moreover empowering the individual to understand how they move so that they can optimise their movement practice to allow fluid, efficient and enjoyable movement. I believe that this in turn has a positive influence on their health and well-being. My influences are from Physiotherapy, Pilates, Yoga, Garuda, Feldenkrais and Functional movement techniques (Thirst4Function). I have been trained extensively in Pilates, including pilates equipment. My main influences have come from Lisa Bradshaw (Body Control Pilates), Elisa Withers (APPI), James De Silva (Garuda) & Miranda Bass (Body Control Pilates). Having personally been involved in numerous sports, I enjoy working with individuals who want to explore movement improvement to help their sport and maintain their health. I am also a qualified assistant athletics coach and I enjoy working with runners and triathletes of all ages. I believe that movement is the key to health & that it needs to be enjoyable, stimulating, varied and sympathetic to the clients body, goals, attitude and most of all any injuries or ongoing medical conditions they may have.
