I went into IT because it was very fascinating for me,how its changing the way we work and how we do things, I knew from the time I matriculated I want to be part of the change, be it implementing the new technologies or supporting them, I just had to be there and when I studied my Diploma in IT Management it was just the beginning. I love working and engaging with different people as I am constantly learning, unlearning and transferring skills.IT is vast so working in IT it knew I will have the opportunity to delve in my need for something new and exciting at all times. I have worked as a systems support engineer where I supported websites,virtual machines and domains.This gave me an understanding of how websites works and DNS records. In this role I was client facing, using ticketing systems like service now to assist clients with queries and issues they have with their services. I have also worked as an installation engineer withing the hosting space, where I carried out installation for switches and services withing the data-center. I worked side to side with client managers, project manager and solutions architect, implementing the projects according to client needs to meet their business needs. With all the roles I have worked in I have noticed my love for project management, implementing a project from start to finish, the client satisfaction when we have helped them achieve their business needs with the implemented project. In projects I get to work with different people, bringing different skills, thus I learn from them as well. Resolving client queries and restoring their services always gives me a sense of achievement, so in pursuing project management I will have a greater sense of achievement as I would have implemented and lead the project process, it will help develop my problem-solving skills, while getting to meet and work with great people.
