Erika Vigil Ed is a Born in San Salvador, and raised in Houston, Texas. I slowly made my way north to Waco, where I studied Biology (and some) at Baylor University. I continued my journey north by joining Teach For America DFW and leading a Biology classroom. In my last 7 years of education, I have led students to 95% of student achievement on statewide tests, won science teacher & assistant principal of the year, built leaders to create an impact across the Dallas, Fort Worth metroplex, and most importantly, had fun along the way. I am currently jumping into leading the first international academy in Dallas ISD and looking forward to empowering our leaders and students to bring change into our communities narrative. I look forward to continuing to live out my educational philosophy of: Students are capable of changing the world, and as educators, we have the pleasure of giving them the opportunity to change it. Students deserve the best education and our best, every time. I get to be a thought partner, supporter, and empower of educators, who have the greatest access to impacting students' futures.
