With over two decades of experience starting and running successful businesses, Ericka has established herself as a respected leader in the business community.   At the age of 17, she started her first business, not knowing there was such a thing as a “serial entrepreneur”.  Today she has successfully started and run several businesses and has a few more on the horizon.  While living in Costa Rica, Ericka’s first venture was Island’s Boutique.  A clothing store focused on Women's and young girls’ formal attire.  Her next venture was creating Corporación Sanbar, a product distribution company.  Ericka quickly acquired exclusive rights to distribute Mexico’s line CALMEX  and within one year the product was in every grocery store in Costa Rica.  After moving in 2002 to Wisconsin, she started Maidbrite LLC with one client and in 20 years has grown it to 400+ clients, and 30+ employees. What sets Ericka apart as an entrepreneur is her commitment to creating business plans that address social issues such as poverty, discrimination, and gender inequality. She sees entrepreneurship as a means to effect positive change in her community and the world, and this has been a driving force behind her successful ventures. Ericka's entrepreneurial acumen is matched by her commitment to lifelong learning. She has sought out opportunities to expand her knowledge and understanding of different industries and backgrounds, including completing the Leadership Wisconsin program XVI and becoming a member of TEC40-Vistage in 2008. In recognition of her achievements, Ericka was awarded the lifetime achievement award from Vistage Wisconsin in 2020. With her latest ventures in the fashion and anime industries, Ericka is leveraging her expertise to mentor and partner with new entrepreneurs.
