I have over 18 years of experience working within the California Community College system at College of the Redwoods in a variety of roles: Academic Advisor, Instructional Support Specialist for students with disabilities, Academic Counselor and most recently Associate Faculty member teaching College Success and Career Development courses for the Pelican Bay Scholars Program at Pelican Bay State Prison. Within these sometimes varied roles, there has been one constant. The belief that education has the ability to change lives and that learning how to learn can be the great equalizer. It is an ability that changes the course of lives for generations to come and has become of the utmost importance in our ever changing and developing world. It is in this helping and teaching role that I find my flow. I strive to listen and learn. I am an excellent coach and find great joy in others' success.
