I am looking for a part time or prn weekend position working 10-12 hour shifts so that I can continue my education goals. I have been in the medical field for eight years. I first entered patient care working as a pharmacy technician in 2013 and planned on entering college to study pharmacy. During my journey, I decided that I wanted to take a different approach to healthcare and accepted a position as a patient care technician (pct) at The Little Clinic in 2015. Later I accepted a management role within the Kroger Company as a Operations Specialist for twenty pharmacy and clinic locations. My dream of pursuing nursing school weighed heavy in my mind, so I made a decision to step down and return to my direct patient care role. I truly enjoyed my position, but wanted to further my education by starting nursing school. While I believed The Little Clinic was a great stepping stone into the nursing field for me, I made the choice to seek employment where I was able to learn more skills to apply to my future nursing career. In 2020, I applied to Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana and accepted a position at Baptist Health working as a Nurse Tech. Working in a hospital setting has given me great knowledge in patient care and has allowed me to expand my education by allowing me to perform ECGs, phlebotomy, and execute bedside patient care. I am currently in my fourth semester at Ivy Tech completing my prerequisite courses and will apply for the ASN program for spring 2023.
