Led also the team of experts that developed the proposal to create a pioneering new university, still regarded to this day as one of Mexico’s best public universities; the development and establishment of the graduate school at one of Mexico’s premier research centers; and the complete transformation of the scientific research center of a Mexican State, from a dwindling institution into one of the most important research centers in Southeastern Mexico. Experienced as well in the development of undergraduate and graduate courses and programs, teaching and mentoring students at both levels and conducting original research, presenting results in national and international conferences, and publishing alone and in collaboration in scholarly journals and as part of books. It also includes serving as advisor and consultant to federal and state government agencies and several university presidents and serving in over 100 committees in Mexico and abroad.
