  Eng Mclaren is a I have over 35 years of local and international transportation engineering experience gained while working in South Africa and since 2000 in Canada. Between 2000 and 2014, I worked for Delcan Corporation (now Parsons) and up until 2021 with Great Northern Engineering Consultants (GNEC) where I led the traffic engineering team and was later the Regional Manager for GNEC's BC operations. In March 2021 I joined Stantec as the British Columbia Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Lead. In January 2024 I decided that after nearly four decades of full-time employment it was time to start edging towards retirement and started working on a part time basis with Stantec as a Senior Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineer. I will continue to support the BC Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering team providing primarily technical and project management services for the foreseeable future. I have managed and/or been the technical lead on multiple traffic engineering, traffic operations, traffic modeling, traffic safety, traffic signal, transportation planning, rail safety and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects throughout Alberta and British Columbia. I have also been part of many multi-discipline design teams providing traffic engineering services for road/highway improvement projects across BC and Alberta. I have also been part of BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority Owner’s Engineer teams providing as and when required transportation planning, traffic engineering and traffic management planning services on major road and rapid transit Design/Build projects with construction costs in excess of 1 Billion.
