Elsie Hulsizer Email & Phone Number | My Background: After a career in environmental management working for local and regional government agencies, I'm privileged to be able to turn my attention to writing, photography and sailing. I grew up fascinated with the sea. That fascination grew to encompass cultural, geological and historical factors that shape a region. Writing and photography give me an opportunity to share that fascination. I have published two books that combine photography and writing: Voyages to Windward: Sailing Adventures on Vancouver Island's West Coast (Harbour Publishing, 2005), and Glaciers, Bears and Totems: Sailing in Search of the Real Southeast Alaska (Harbour Publishing, 2010). In addition, my articles regularly appear in Northwest Yachting and 48 North and I give presentations at yacht clubs and boat shows on sailing in SE Alaska and British Columbia. I'm currently working on a children's book, "Jigger the Cat Sails to Alaska." In between sailing adventures I serve on the board of trustees for Seattle's Center for Wooden Boats.
