Eline Bunnik Email & Phone Number | As an Associate Professor at Erasmus MC, I investigate ethical implications of (bio)technological innovations for health care and society at large, ranging from genetics and genomics, epigenetics and non-invasive prenatal testing, to the use of stem cell and regenerative medicine technologies in personalised medicine and organ transplantation. Also, I study ethical aspects of access to expensive medical treatments. I am currently the Chair of the national indications committee (LIC) for pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) in the Netherlands. Also, I am a member of the Ethical and Legal Issues working groups of the Dutch association for clinical genetics (VKGN) and the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ELPAT). In house, I serve on the research ethics review committee (IRB) of Erasmus MC and the hospital-wide medical ethics committee, and elsewhere, as an ethics advisor to national and international research projects and working groups. I teach medical students, post-graduates and professionals on medical ethics and bioethics. I was trained as a philosopher (research master 2005, cum laude) and then studied medicine (propedeuse 2007). In June 2014, I defended my thesis 'Up close and personal: ethical issues in genomic testing'.
